Why we're doing this
To put more "Excitement Sessions" into the world
All right, I opened this Substack today. And the reason I did was because I got excited this morning thinking about something that I was calling ‘Excitement Sessions.’
The reason was a long time ago, when I was thinking about what I could do to make something that was valuable and earn some sort of living doing something I enjoyed. I remember thinking about the idea of: you only have to convince X amount of people in the world to pay X amount of something. And that would be enough, right?
And so, in this concept I just wrote down to find 500 people who paid $20 a month, which equates to what — what's $20 A month times 12? So who paid $250 a year, right? To be part of something that is a big deal, you know, that would create $100,000 Nope. $120,000 in revenue, right?
If it was valuable enough, those people would eventually tell other people, and again, you're looking at the the scale of the world. So it shouldn't be hard to find 1000 people or 1500 people who decide to subscribe for $20 a month.
I bring that up because once I can have my bases covered, we can start to do amazing things. And so that's why the Substack is just starting immediately with some sort of subscription fee.
I often have conversations with people about what they want to do with their lives, and finding that professional happiness and finding some sort of purpose. And so often in those conversations some sort of conclusion comes from them about how they're motivated, or I'm firing them up. I have been in a mastermind group for just a couple of weeks, and in both of my contributions, the same kind of feeling comes out of that. I'm not going to try and bullshit you. I am not somebody who is already proven as an entrepreneur, and I am not somebody who is going to be the best person to talk to, to actually execute the thing. But for whatever reason I am somebody who, in the initial conversation, or in a conversation a month or two after that, I can continuously get people excited about what could be. And so with that energy, how could we harness the concept of $20 a month to make some cool things happen.
More of that in my next post.
